Hello all supporters of Weymouth & Portland RFC

We wanted to let you know what the committee have been doing during Covid 19 restrictions. With all the usual events that we had booked now cancelled Alison has been working tirelessly to bring our outgoing to the bare minimum. She has reduced services bills by renegotiating or in some stopping payments altogether. She has also applied for as many grants as possible which have on the whole been successful. We will be sending out the accounts and officers reports shortly with the calling notice for the AGM. We have delayed the AGM to try to have the meeting in person but also have a fallback plan for a vertical AGM although the preferred option would be a face to face meeting.

Adam has been working throughout this period and has done amazing work around the club. He has made good the fencing and gates around the southern pitch with Nobby Clarke assisting with painting. Adam has constructed new picnic benches and repaired gates. He with support has filled in the deep potholes in the car park and cut back weeds to make the place a real are to be proud of.

Adam has also been busy inside the clubhouse. He has repaired and painted the back of the bar and installed a new top which looks amazing. Adam has not been alone and has had support from Anthony and Alison to name just two volunteers who have given their time during lock down.

Going forward we need to maintain the momentum and ensure that the club stays looking great as it does at the moment. We ask that more members, supporters and parents come forward to help keep our club looking amazing. Work around the cub doesn't happen by magic and is reliant on volunteers. We have a core nucleus of volunteers who always step up but we need more of you to join in. The more volunteers the more we can get done and hopefully have fun at the same time. As soon as we are able we intend having an open day to do some tidying and work around the club before a BBQ and a few drinks. It would be great is we could fill the club with as many of you as we can and celebrate the club and it's wonderful family.

We have included some photos of the work being done at your club and hope you all have been well and safe during this difficult time.

We wanted to close with one final piece of information, in the season 2021 - 2022 we as a club will celebrate 150 years. We as a committee will be making arrangements and would welcome support from members, supporters and parents to make this a spectacular year if celebrations. If you would like t volunteer in any capacity whether it be as a coach a team manager a first aided or even one of the committee please speak to Jon Monaghan or any of the committee.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
